Day 1: Arrive Amman

Meet at Amman
International
Airport
(arrivals between the hours of 8.00 AM and 8.00 PM), and
transfer to hotel of choice.

Day 2: Amman (B, D)
Morning tour of Amman, visiting the Roman Theater, the
Citadel, the Archeology and the Folklore Museums, old
and modern Amman, and one of the many art galleries in
this capital city. After an afternoon at leisure, dinner
at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Amman - Dead Sea (B)
Today we will drive down to the lowest
spot on earth and experience floating in the waters of
the Dead Sea. Continue
northwards to Pella in
the Jordan
Valley.
Continue to Um Qais, Gedara of the Bible (Mathew
8:28-43), for a spectacular view of the Sea of Galilee,
the Yarmouk
River and the
Golan Heights. Return in the late afternoon
to Amman.

Day 4: Jerash - Ajloun - Amman
(B)
Today we will visit Jerash, the
best preserved and largest Greco-Roman city in Jordan; we’ll
stroll the stately colonnaded streets past the theater,
the baths, the hill top temple and the triumphal arch.
Then we will continue to Ajloun; here we will see the
medieval
Castle
of Ajloun
which was built by Muslims against crusader invasions.
After the tour we will return to our hotel. Overnight:

Day 5: Madaba -
Mount Nebo – Kerak - Petra (B)
After breakfast we will drive along the King’s Highway,
the ancient Silk Road. Our first stop is Madaba, famous with its
Byzantine mosaics. We will visit the Greek Orthodox
Church of St. George to see the earliest surviving
original map of the Holy land
in a mosaic floor dating to 560 A.D. Then we will drive
to Mount
Nebo, one of the most important holy
sites in Jordan, known as the site of the
tomb of Moses. Our last place to visit before arriving
to Petra is Kerak, the city famous with the12th
century hilltop fortress including galleries, towers,
chapels, and ramparts that vividly recall the age of the
Crusaders.

Day 6: Petra (B)
A full day to visit the many sites of
Petra, this city that was carved into the rose-red
Sharah Mountains by the Nabateans and lost to
Civilization until re-discovered by the Swiss Burkhardt.
Walk through the Siq, a narrow and winding fissure
between the cliffs, to reach the Treasury, the Roman
Theater, the Courts, Qasr Bint Pharaoun,
Temple
of the Winged Lion and other monuments. A break for
optional lunch, or you may wish to climb up to the
Monastery.

Day 7: Wadi Rum - Aqaba - Amman
After breakfast
visit
Wadi
Rum
Desert
with its awesome moon-like landscape, where the film
“Lawrence of Arabia” was shot.
Travelers who want to cross to Israel will continue to
the Araba Crossing. Others will return to Amman. Arrival
at Amman approximately at 5:00pm.
