Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Cairo
Arrive at Cairo airport and transfer to hotel. Meet tour coordinator for welcome briefing. Overnight: Cairo
Day 2: Cairo Tour (B)
After breakfast, begin full day sightseeing tour of Cairo. First visit Giza Plateau, located in the west bank of Nile, facing Cairo. Cheops, Chepren and Mycerinus are the three pyramids we will see in this plateau and their guardian Sphinx, the lion body human head mythical statue. Later visit the world famous Egyptian Museum. The museum that houses the largest Egyptian collection with more than 250.000 antiques extending over the past 5000 years. Return to hotel. Overnight: Cairo
Day 3: Cairo – Luxor (B, L, D)
Early morning we will be transferred to Cairo airport for our flight to Luxor. Upon arrival we will be guided to embark to Nile Cruise ship and have lunch on board. After lunch begin the tour in the enchanted Luxor, considered the greatest open air museum in the world. Cross the river to the eastern bank of Nile to see the temple of Karnak and Luxor. After tour return to the ship for dinner and overnight. Overnight: Nile Cruise / Luxor
Day 4: Luxor – Edfu (B, L, D)
Breakfast on board. In the morning visit the West bank - Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. Sail to Edfu, have lunch on board and will have free time at leisure. Overnight in Edfu
Day 5: Edfu – Kom Ombo – Aswan (B ,L, D)
Today visit Edfu Temple, located in the west bank of Nile and dedicated to god Horus, the falcon god. Then sail to Kom Ombo to visit the temple that was built in Ptolemaic Roman era for the worship of god Haroeris and Sobek, the crocodile god. Sail to Aswan for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Aswan (B, L, D)
After breakfast visit the remarkable Aswan Dam, considered as one of the outstanding architectural achievements of the 20th Century. Then visit the Philae Temple, which was dedicated to goddess Isis. Lunch on board and sail on the Nile by Feluccas for the view of Elephantine island (or Kitchener’s island), view from boat. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 7: Aswan – (optional Abu Simbel) – Cairo (B)
After breakfast disembark and transfer to Aswan Airport. Clients who booked optional Abu Simbel tour will take the flight to Abu Simbel to see the magnificent temples of Ramses II and Nefertiti; after you return Aswan you might have free time in Aswan until your flight to Cairo. If you don’t take the optional tour you’ll fly to Cairo in the morning, you’ll be transferred to your hotel and will have free time in the afternoon. Overnight: Cairo
Day 8: Cairo - Amman (B)
Transfer to Cairo airport for flight to Amman. Cairo – Amman flight not included, will be quoted separately. Upon arrival meet our representative and transfer to hotel. Overnight: Amman
Day 9: Amman City Tour – Madaba – Mount Nebo – Petra (B)
After breakfast Amman City tour then transfer to visit on the way Madaba the city of Mosaics, which has the oldest known mosaic map of the holy land, after that we will go to view the Jordan Valley from the famous Mount Nebo visiting its Byzantine Church, continue to Petra for Overnight.
Day 10: Petra -Dead Sea (B)
This morning enjoy a guided tour around one of the world's most famous and awe-inspiring archaeological sites – the UNESCO World Heritage Listed ancient city of Petra. Start by entering through the Siq, a long and winding narrow gorge flanked on either side by soaring 80m high cliffs which will lead you to the breathtaking façade of The Treasury (Al-Khazneh). The Treasury is arguably one of Jordan’s most iconic wonders and was featured in the film ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’. Spend some time exploring the city’s main highlights including the Roman Theatre, Street of Façades and the Royal Tombs. Afternoon is free for you to explore the vast network of hidden passages and fascinating tombs and palaces at your leisure. You may wish to climb up to the High Palace of Sacrifice which is located at the summit of the Attuf Ridge and offers spectacular views over the red sandstone landscapes of Wadi Araba. Or perhaps head to the Monastery, one of the largest monuments in Petra boasting an impressive façade measuring 47m wide and 49m high (please note this climb involves around 800 steps). This afternoon you will be transferred to your Dead Sea resort. Enjoy a day at leisure at the lowest point on earth. Why not try out the mud baths, claimed to have therapeutic qualities and float in the mineral rich waters. Overnight: Dead Sea
Day 11: Departure (B)
Transfer to Amman airport for flight back home. Thank you for visiting Egypt & Jordan!
